TOSQ
Pinot Gris 2011 $23.95

The grapes for this wine were harvested by hand on the 14th April 2011 and gently whole bunched pressed at the Maude Winery. A small proportion was fermented in old french oak to add further complexity and palate weight. The wine was bottled in October 2011.
Aromatic, rich and textural, the wine has bright acidity offsetting a touch of residual sweetness to produce a pleasing off-dry style. This wine will continue to develop for a further 3 to 4 years.
This is a versatile wine which makes a lovely aperitif and will also partner well with a wide range of foods particularly white meats, fish and seafood, summer salads and subtly spiced asian flavours. Serve lightly chilled.

This wine is made from fruit from the Cromwell basin (50%) and Gibbston (50%) sub-regions. The 2011 growing season was long with above average temperatures providing the perfect conditions for Pinot Gris with fruit with excellent varietal definition. All the fruit was carefully hand harvested and de-stemmed and crushed prior to gentle pressing.
The resulting wine abounds with pear, quince, mango and stone-fruit. It is well balanced and mouth filling with great persistence. Lovely drinking now, this wine will continue to develop over the next few years.

GIBBSTON VALLEY
- Pinot Gris 2012 $26.95
Qty:
"The Gibbston Valley Pinot Gris can do almost anything. Dry in style with sweet fruit; long, understated and mineral, its affinity with food is incredible. It can go with rich foods and cut into them or support lighter more fresh dishes, singing along with any finishing garnish. Or it can be simply enjoyed alone. Either that, or cellar it it will fatten out in time and be gloriously rich. This takes ten years, but believe me, it is worth it."

White blossom petal and pear are leading factors in the perfume of this Pinot Gris, while subtle oak aromas interlace in the background. We enjoy the texture of our 2013 Pinot Gris. An oily mouth feel from start to finish, drenched in fruit character, is something we look for in every good example of Pinot Gris.
Slightly dryer in style compared to the 2012, this Pinot Gris packs some punch. Approachable now, the 2013 Pinot Gris will age well for 6 - 8 years.
