MITRE ROCKS - MOUNT DOTTREL
Lying at the foot of the rugged Pisa Range overlooking the picturesque Lake Dunstan some 10km north of Cromwell, the vineyard was to be something of a hearthstone for our family. It is a common cause that binds us together, and giving future generations the option to continue this endeavour, rooted in the land we love. The first grapes were harvested from our vineyard in 2005, producing Pinot Noir of remarkable quality from the outset. Winemaker is Carol Bunn. - Simon & Roy McCallum Mount Dottrel
Pinot Noir 2008 $33.95
Attractive dark fruit aromas, intense, complex flavours, rounded tannins and a long finish.
Mount Dottrel
Pinot Noir 2007 $33.95
Dark, rich wine presenting attractive Central Otago Pinot Noir characters of cherry
and plum on the nose, supported by earthy complexity and herb fl avours. Full and
round on the palate, this wine has great tannin structure, length and weight. An
excellent complement to food, Mount Dottrel Pinot Noir 2007 will drink well while
young, but will open up with careful cellaring.
IWSC (International Wine & Spirit Competition - London) Bouchard Finlayson Trophy and gold medal - October 2009 Gourmet Traveller Wine 92pts Romeo Bragato Wine Awards 2009 Gold NZ International Wine Show 2009 Silver Mitre Rocks
Pinot Noir 2007 $41.95
This barrel-selected wine, crafted from our very best parcels, is opulent and dark, with big, dense
fruit. The attractive bouquet hints at the plum and cherry fl avours you’ll encounter on the palate,
where they are enlivened by dried herbal complexities. The tannins are velvety, while the structure
and length is impressive. This Pinot Noir is seductively approachable on its own, but is also an excellent
accompaniment to food and should age very well.
