The Alexandra Wine Company produces wine from two Central Otago Vineyards, Davishon and Crag an Oir.

Davishon Vineyard is situated at Airport Road on the Dunstan Flats between Alexandra and Clyde and is owned by David and Shona Garry.Grapes have been grown on the Dunstan Flats for 130 years and Davishon is only a short distance from Monte Christo, where Jean Feraud produced the first Central Otago wines in the 1860's. Feraud saw that the free draining soils and continental climate were ideal for producing premier wines as they are today.

Crag an oir Eatate, which is Gaelic for "Hill of Gold" is situated on a high terrace above the Manuherikia River, just north of Alexandra, along Rockview Road, off State Highway 85. It is owned by Murray and Chris Bell.

Alexandra is situated at the confluence of the Clutha and Manuherikia rivers at the southem end of the Manuherikia Valley and has a reputation for recording the hotest driest summers and coldest winters in New Zealand.

The Alexandra Wine Company label shows a gold stylised Central Otago schist rock depicting the dry harsh environment and the history of gold in the valley and hills around the area.

The cold vinters and hot summers, along with the extreme temperature change between night and day, with ideal soils full of heat reflecting mica schist, helps bring out the best in the wines from the most southern wine growing region in the world.

An elegant style Pinot Noir loaded with black cherry, raspberry and spice flavours, it has wonderful balance and is very stylish. The fine integrated tannins give structure and length and the overall impression is a seamless presentation of flavour, nuance and subtle power. This wine is delicious now but will continue to develop interest and sophistication well into the future.
